Rumors by Behr

The rumors are true, folks: rich and earthy reds will take over homes in 2025. With its ruby red shade, Rumors, Behr is here to show you how rich and versatile this color can be. Rumors is a beautiful balance between nostalgic red and modern earthy tones that are taking over interior design. It’s a modern take on timeless red, and it creates this energetic appeal that can make a lasting statement.

Rumors is perfect if you’re looking for an approachable way to add color to your home. It can elevate the neutrals you already have (for example, it can make for a good cabinetry color in an otherwise neutral kitchen). Or you can go bold with a color drench in a formal living area, like the dining room. It helps add a punch of drama to such spaces.

Mocha Mousse by Pantone

Pantone’s Color of the Year pick, mocha mousse, is a medium-shade brown that’s rich and sophisticated at the same time. It’s true that shades of brown are the world’s hottest neutrals right now—and this soft, warm chocolatey brown color is one of the best picks, according to designers. It adds a neutral color to your home, but makes sure to keep it visually engaging. Mocha mousse adds a sense of warmth that other neutrals may lack.

With mocha mousse, we see our perception of brown changing from being merely humble and grounded, to adding on elements of aspiration and luxury. You can say this color resembles the creamy combination of whipped chocolate and coffee. Mocha mousse works well in a luxurious formal setting—like the living room—or a traditional, cozy setting, like the bedroom.

Mapped Blue by Dutch Boy Paints

Blue isn’t just a color for your boy’s bedroom. As Dutch Boy Paints announce Mapped Blue as their one-coat color of the year, we see this hue finding so many other uses. This versatile and medium blue has yellow undertones. This allows it to complement a wide range of aesthetics.

As thoughtful and enduring design choices continue to grow, this brand wanted to choose a color that felt timeless but personal. And that’s just what Mapped Blue is. This hue goes well with many other colors—like neutrals or darker shades of blue—and adds a timeless aesthetic that will stand the test of time.

Color Capsule of the Year by Sherwin-Williams

We love Sherwin-Williams’ choice—or shall we say, choices—of interior paint colors. They didn’t nominate one color; they went for nine! Their stunning nine-color palette includes some of Sherwin-Williams’ best-selling hues. They are all complementary colors, so you can choose from them and mix and match as you like.

The capsule includes gray-blues, earthy browns, gold, green, white, mauve, and beige. That is to say, the palette uses both timeless neutrals and trendy pops of color. So you can pick a mix of beige and earthy brown for the living room; add on a gray-blue color for the cabinetry in the kitchen; and so on!

Purple Basil by Glidden

If you like jewel tones, this one’s it. Purple Basil by Glidden is a deeper-shaded purple—but it’s on the muted side because it’s desaturated. According to the brand, purple basil is a high-impact hue that represents self-expression and self-discovery. Glidden encourages its followers to go bold in their color choices—and not worry about what the neighbors will think 😉

Purple basil is dusty violet color with mauve undertones. It is rich; it’s multi-dimensional; and it’s comforting. If you want to create an intimate environment in your living room, we 100% recommend purple basil.

Cinnamon Slate by Benjamin Moore

Cinnamon slate is a slightly moody and nature-inspired hue. It mixes rich plum and chocolate brown to create a color that’s “adaptable yet distinct”. The brand chose this color because it is captivating on its own—but isn’t so bold that it takes over the room. This paint color is part of Benjamin Moore’s 10-color palette, which has 5 warm and 5 cool shades. You can use them in combination for a subtle and relaxed pop of color.

Cinnamon slate is a welcoming color that offers style as well as modern sensibility. Its depth and richness bring approachability to the room and add a sense of comfort—making it a favorite for years to come.

Caramelized by Dunn-Edwards

Caramelized is dubbed as “the new neutral”. It’s a warm terracotta brown—somewhat reminiscent of sunbaked clay. This color adds warmth and character to any room. The brand chose this shade because of homeowners’ love for earthy and timeless colors.

This is because, in this fast-paced world, we find ourselves drawn to more saturated colors that are timeless. This helps create spaces that are stylish and grounded, and caramlized provides just that. You can pair caramelized with off-white or cream hues. This makes the room feel light and airy. Adding on dark colors, like navy or charcoal, create a moody feel. Caramelized also works great with light wood accents (like a natural wood trim).

Hammered Black by Krylon

Krylon has introduced black as its Color of the Year, which adds this alluring vibe to the space. You can use the color for an accent wall of the room, sure. But another great use for this paint is to give a new color to your secondhand upcycled furniture. This gives the piece a vintage and lived-in feel—and can make even the oldest furniture stand out with a unique statement.

Hammered black adds a new level of appreciation for statement pieces, especially because it adds a rich and textured allure. It brings the mysterious beauty of the night right into your indoor environment and creates a calm and grounding environment that’s reminiscent of the dusk.

You can use the spray paint to upgrade items made from many different materials, including plastic, metal, wood, glass, wicker and ceramic. You wouldn’t need to sand or prime beforehand—so it’ll make for a relatively easy DIY project.

Encore by Valspar

This is another jewel tone—and another blue—on our list of interior paint colors 2025. This is a rich, saturated jewel tone that’s more on the sophisticated side. We love this shade for its versatility; the deep blue works with both modern and old world design styles.

This atmospheric deep blue adds the luxury of old world design and the futuristic vibe to your space. So it’s a color that feels familiar and unexpected at the same time! Use this color to make a bold statement (with an accent wall). Or jump on the jewel-toned bathroom trend 😊
